Creating a regional-level policy for AI regulamentation using participatory tools.

There is no current regional policy guidelines' discussion for Artificial Intelligence in Latin America. Individual Latin American countries do not have such policies either. Hence, there is an opportunity to design it in a collaborative way, open for debate with civil society. There are well-succedded examples of regionally-built policies, such as the European Union's GDPR, as well as crowdsourced national-level policies such as the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet.

Solution:

  • Creating a regional forum for discussing AI regulamentation;
  • Engaging citizens, academy, private sector, governments and organized civil society in both local, national and regional levels;
  • Adapting and adopting recommendations arising from such discussions in individual coutrines.
