Feminist Foreign Policy

OpenTTN

“Feminist Foreign Policy” is the first Policy Kitchen challenge jointly organized by all five member think tanks of the Open Think Tank Network (OpenTTN): Polis180 (GER), Argo (FR), Agora (UK), Ponto (AT) and foraus (CH). It builds on the momentum of the 2020 20th anniversary of the UNSCR 1325, the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action and the 5th anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goal 5.

We will organize an international participatory process to develop practical recommendations for implementing a “Feminist Foreign Policy”. The challenge will address a broad audience of experts and non-experts with different backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge. In addition to the online process, on-site workshops will take place in all 5 countries during the months of March and April. The results will lead to the first joint OpenTTN-publication and a series of impact events in fall 2020. Stay tuned for more information. UN

What kind of world do we want in 2045? What are the threats to that vision posed by current and emerging global trends? How can global cooperation be reinvigorated to better address those threats and deliver on our hopes?

To mark the occasion of its 75th anniversary in 2020, the UN initiated a global conversation around these three core questions. This dialogue will culminate in a large-scale event at the UN headquarters in New York in September 2020.

The UN has asked foraus to collect voices from Swiss youth in this process. We are organizing workshops and an online process this spring with a focus on “rising inequalities”. Participants will be able to vote on the best contribution. The top voted contributor can present his or her idea in front of a panel of directors of several UN agencies. This is an incredible opportunity to create impact with your voice! Stay tuned for more information.
