What the future will look like:

• The year is 2040
• Key problems are the socio-economic impacts of climate change and increasing inequality, but technology is developing to fight these problems which create better foundations for their democracy.

Our vision is:

• A broad fact-checking and news aggregating piece of software akin to an app store, they would see a concise summary of various popular narratives on social media and the factors, such as news stories and political statements, that create these issues
• Uses open API technology as foundation, as it can be used by a plethora of companies for their fact checking services, to avoid monopolising truth
• This would create a fact checking norm, as well as encouraging newspapers to report what people are saying
• An aggregation platform that compiles information about original source, and who fact checked  (including AI) various statements made by politicians
• It would include an aggregator of common opinions and views on social media which gives more detail than scrolling through Twitter hashtags

It would over come:

• Making sure information was verified, and people know by whom
• This would create fact checking norms amongst individuals and news companies
• Monopolization of truth and fact checking
• Would avoid atomization of opinion, and break down online echo-chamber
