Read this to understand how democracy and technology can improve our life

It is August 2050 and I am currently sitting in my 12 square meter room, directly in front of the blasting cooling fan . The air condition installed in my room alone cannot even keep the crippling heat out. Despite growing concerns surrounding climate change, climate activist were unable to change the minds of multinational industries and lobbiest and the growing capitalist market kept producing Co2, which slowly but surely changed the whole ecosystem. So in conclusion, I am sitting in my 12 square meter room, since I cannot survive the deadly heat outside. Instead – fortunately or unfortunately for us – the government has made efforts to install highly capable WLan routers around the city and have continued developing our technologies to outperforming and innovate new apps and programs every single year. The government has made it a fundamental right that every human being has access to technologies (laptops and phones), essentially, so that everyone is able to stay indoors, safe from the deadly heat and manage, organise and control our daily life through the screens of our computers. Especially now, regarding the upcoming elections, I am glad to be able to execute my duty as a citizen through a digital medium, I mean, they've already taken away away my right to go outdoors so they cannot take my democratic rights as well!! Since everyone has access to a medium, everyone has to vote. If you don't, you get fined and will be withheld from the next elections. So everyone has to participate – isn't that what democracy is all about?
