A "Feminist Foreign Policy" is not credible if its not in sync with domestic policy

Feminist (or at least gender sensitive) elements are already quite common in aspects of foreign policy of western nations, specifically in development aid etc.

It's easy to tell other nations to use funds in a gender sensitive way, but it risks being hypocritical if there's not an equal effort to improve the domestic situation.

We all applaud Mexico to be among the first nations with a feminist foreign policy, but according to a recent WEF report, Mexico ranks 124 (out of 152) in terms of equality in "economic participation and opportunity".

Switzerland has a fairly 'feminist' development policy, but ranks 77 in terms of equality in "educational attainment" and 110 in "health and survival". These ranks are worse than a long list of developing nations.
