Support forest protection, afforestation and reforestation (including endangered rainforests) as effective carbon sinks, and support efforts towards the adoption of a new global framework to protect biodiversity in 2020. The UN should prioritise protecting marine and terrestrial ecosystems, including by working to strengthen and enforce global environmental legislation and regulation and end impunity for environmental crimes.
